Tottenham have a number of promising young players coming through Anton Slepyshev Women Jersey the ranks. I thought it would be quite a good idea to follow 7 of the most promising youngsters and see how well the do over the course of the 2008/2009 season. Every week Ill post an update detailing senior and reserve team appearences, goals, loan moves and anything else of intrest.So now to list the 7 players Ill be following. So Ladies and Gentleman please put your hands together forTHE 7 YOUNG SPURS WERE GOING TO FOLLOW!!!#1. TROY ARCHIBALD-HENVILLE. (age.19)Archibald-Henville is the captain of the reserve team and plays in central defence. He played in 15 reserve matches in the 2007/2008 season, scoring two goals. Troy made the bench for two of Tottenhams Premiership games last season, including the December visit to the Emirates Stadium.WHAT TO EXPECT THIS SEASON More time on the senior teams bench and a regular player for the reserves. Archibald-Henville has already been touted as a future Spurs skipper and, on the form he showed in the reserve league last year, that could be a po sibility.COULD BE THE NEXT Ledley King.#2. DANNY ROSE. (age.18)Danny Rose signed from Leeds in the summer of 2007. A fantastic prospect, Rose plays in attacking midfield. Danny played 10 times for the reserve team last Ryan McLeod Kids Jersey year, scoring once.Rose played for the England under 18s in April of this year and also played in all 5 of Englands U17 European Championships games. The U17s eventually lost to Spain in the final.WHAT TO EXPECT THIS SEASON More reserve team appearences. Dannys progre s in the reserve team was halted last year by a shin injury, so hell be desperate to get more games under his belt.COULD BE THE NEXT Jermaine Jenas.#3. Takura Mtandari. (age.19)Takura Mtandari played in nearly all of Tottenham U18s fixtures in the 2007/2008 season. Starting 25 games, the versatile player scored one goal.Takura used to play in defence. However the Spurs management converted him into a defensive midfielder and Mtandaris never looked backed since. He played in 9 reserve team games last season, starting two of them.WHAT TO EXPECT THIS SEASON More reserve team starts. A senior team appearence looks to be a little way off with his path currently being blocked by Didier Zokora, Tom Huddlestone and Jermaine Jenas. That said, he might make the bench in a couple of our games.COULD BE THE NEXT DIDIER ZOKORA.#4. JOHN BOSTOCK (age.16)John Bostock can proudly boast at being one of the hottest prospects in Britain, maybe even Europe.Bostock, a midfielder, joined Tottenham from Crystal Palace in July 2008 despite intrest from giants such as Manchester United and even Barcelona. Bostock has captained England at U17 level and became Crystal Palaces youngest ever player to start a game, aged just 15yrs and 295 days Ryan Strome Women Jersey .WHAT TO EXPECT THIS SEASON. A number of reserve team appearences and maybe even a few minutes for the senoir team. Bostock played for the full Crystal Palace side last year, expect to see him for the full Spurs side towards the end of the 2008/2009 season.COULD BE THE NEXT LUKA MODRIC/JERMAINE JENAS.#5. TOMAS PEKHART (age.19)Tomas finished the 2007/2008 season as top scorer for the reserve team. He found the net 5 times in 13 apperances.Pekhart joined Spurs from Slavia Prague. He netted 19 times in 20 games for the Spurs academy team making him the top scorer Andrew Ference Men Jersey . He also top scored in the U17 European Championships for the Czech Republic.WHAT TO EXPECT THIS SEASON Expect Pekhart to break into the full Tottenham team. With Berbatov set to leave only Darren Bent would be left in the senior team. Expect Pekhart to partner him if no replacement is signed.COULD BE THE NEXT PETER CROUCH.#6. BEN ALNWICK (age.21)Goalkeeper Ben Alnwick joined Tottenham from Sunderland in January, 2007. Has been loaned to both Luton and Leicster, becoming a regular for both teams.Alnwick played 8 times for Leicster City, performing well in all of their games. Due to his loan moves he has not featured on a regular basis for Clive Allens reserve team.WHAT TO EXPECT THIS SEASON Expect Alnwick to remain as the clubs number 3, behind new signings Gomes and Cesar Sanchez. Another loan move is also a po sibility.COULD BE THE NEXT HEURELHO GOMES.#7. GIOVANI DOS SANTOS. (age.19)Highly rated Dos Santos joined Tottenham from spanish giants Barcelona in the summer of 2008 for 4.7mil. He started the game against Middlesbrough and showed a few flashes of brilliance.Gio played a number of times for thefull Barcelona team, and the young Mexican rapidly became a fans favourite. Jussi Jokinen Men Jersey He made his Champions league debut against french side Lyon, and scored a hat-trick in his last Barcelona game, against Real Murcia. Giovani scored twice on his Spurs debut, a friendly against Spanish side Tavernes.WHAT TO EXPECT THIS SEASON More first team appearences. Looked lively against Boro and could start alongside Darren Bent if Berbatov leaves and no replacement is signed. If another striker is signed before the transfer window closes, he could become a super sub.COULD BE THE NEXT RONALDINHO. |
