Anne Frank, the biography of a resilient girl
modafinil wiki
п»їAnne Frank always dreamed of becoming a journalist and later a great novelist. When she started writing her diary she saw it as a future project, which she would surely realize after the war, when everything returned to normal. Things did not happen as she imagined, but she finally achieved what she had longed for.
The Diary of Anne Frank is considered one of the most moving testimonies of all time. What makes it so special is the frankness with which it was written and the innocence with which it describes the horror of war. It is now one of the most widely read books in the world and is inscribed on UNESCO's "Memory of the World Register".
Anne Frank and her family had to hide in a small attic to escape the hatred of the Nazis. The captivity lasted a little more than two years and during that time Ana wrote her diary. In it was recorded, with great charm, the life of a girl who is in full growth stage and who is surrounded by a terrifying reality.
"As long as you can look at the sky without fear, you will know that you are pure inside, and that, come what may, you will be happy again."
-Ana Frank
First edition of Anne Frank's diary in 1955The short life of Anne FrankAna Frank was born on June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Her father, Otto Frank, had served in the German army during World War I and had earned the rank of lieutenant, as well as a decoration for bravery: the Iron Cross. He later became a banker and in 1925 married Edith Höllander.
The couple had two daughters; first came Margot, in 1926, and three years later Ana was born. All of them formed a traditional upper middle-class Jewish family.
When Hitler seized power in Germany in 1933, the persecution of Jews began and the family decided to move to Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
In his new home, Otto Frank set up a store selling pectin and spices. All went well until 1942, when the Nazis invaded the Netherlands and, as was their custom, went on a "hunt" for Jews. The Dutch were the only Europeans who openly opposed this persecution, but their protests had little effect.
Fleeing persecutionThe situation of the Jews was becoming increasingly tense and Otto Frank realized that the whole family was in great danger and that their capture was only a matter of time. So, with the help of some of his co-workers, he prepared a hiding place in the same building where he had his store.
There was another building next door, separated only by a courtyard. It had three floors and on the top floor there was a secret door leading to an attic. The access was hidden behind a shelf that led to stairs, which in turn led to a small place where there were two tiny rooms and a bathroom.
Otto told his wife and eldest daughter about the plans, but Anne Frank knew nothing about it until it was time to move to the hiding place. This happened on July 9, 1942, three days after Margot, the eldest daughter, received notification that she was to report to the German authorities. This meant that she would be arrested and deported.
Faced with this situation, Otto decided it was time for the family to go into hiding. They had to leave their home at night, taking with them as much clothing as they could carry, as it was too dangerous to carry suitcases. They left their house in disarray and with a casual note suggesting that they were escaping to Switzerland. The plan was designed to work.

In all, eight people shared the hiding place. Anne Frank succeeded in describing each of them with great depth and talent, turning them into literary characters.
The diary tells of their characters and the tensions they had to cope with in the precarious situation in which they lived. The refugees survived during this period thanks to the help of their Dutch friends, who provided them with food and kept them abreast of events. In that small place, Anne thought the world and fell in love for the first time.
It all ended on August 4, 1944 when they were discovered by Dutch Gestapo officers during a routine inspection. The refugees were sent to a concentration camp and the Frank family was separated in Auschwitz.
In the end, Anne was left alone with her sister and both were sent to the Bergen-Belsen camp, where they both died of typhus.
The only survivor was Otto, Anne Frank's father. When he returned to the hiding place, searching for clues about his family, the Red Cross informed him of everyone's death. Then they handed him Anne's diary, which he did not know. Immediately, he knew he was dealing with a document of historical importance. Two years later, he managed to have it published and thus made the dream of his little daughter, who had died at the age of 15, come true.
