In severe cases of depression, delusions (irrational beliefs) and hallucinations may be seen. Depressed patients may speak irrationally and hear voices. The type of depression in which these symptoms occur is called psychotic depression. It is the most severe type of this disease. Delusions and hallucinations that occur in depression are themed around guilt, worthlessness and sinfulness. In other words, grandiose delusions such as "I am God, I am a genius, I am someone special" are not very common. Let's give examples of delusions and hallucinations seen in some psychotic depression patients:
"My body is rotting; my liver, lungs, heart, stomach are rotting. I am WhatsApp Number List disappearing. As I disappear, I am spreading a foul smell. The neighbors are moving out of the neighborhood because of this smell. There are no more people in the neighborhood." Extinction or nihilistic delusions.

"Forty years ago I went to a brothel. God is now punishing me for this sin. Global warming and drought are caused by my sin. I am the worst person in the world!" Delusions of sinfulness.
"I am the devil! I will burn in hell forever! I hear voices: The apocalypse will come, they say. The apocalypse will come because of me." Delusions of guilt.
It is very difficult to endure the pain caused by such delusions of guilt, worthlessness, and sinfulness. Therefore, the risk of suicide is high in psychotic depression. For this reason, such patients usually need to be treated in hospital.
